Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

This year for Christmas we went up to Boise to spend it with the Coltrin family. We had so much fun!!! Mike and I both had a whole week off so we spent the whole week up there. I haven't spent a week straight with my family in a while. It was very nice!!

To start off the week we went to church Sunday! I know that doesn't sound like a huge event but the before Christmas is my absolute favorite! Lots of songs and wonderful talks!!

On Christmas morning we came up to a room full of presents. We were all spoiled rotten!!!
Mike and I got an iPad from Santa he even left me a Belle Barbie :) my parents loaded us up with new clothes and we spoiled each other with clothes a board game and a move system for the PS3. We got money from his parents that we used for movies and fun in Boise!

My brothers were spoiled also!!! Santa brought them a ping pong table! Cameron got a new smart phone, Corbyn got a sweet ihome, and Keaton got a cross bow.... Yes a cross bow!! It was a little scary Christmas morning not to mention that later that day he got a blow dart from a cousin. My parents also got an iPad from Santa so now we can FaceTime!

For the rest of the week we just hung out saw moves and spent lots of time at my dads gym. We saw Jack Reacher, les miserables and parental guidance. They were all fantastic movies!! On Saturday the 29th my cousin Claire got Married so we spent the whole day doing wedding stuff!

Here are some pictures of our fun week!!!!

a POP of COLOR

I decided that my living room needed some color in it, and i knew the colors i wanted.... This was a problem because i couldn't find anything that fit what i wanted. So i decided i was going to have to make what i wanted . I love crafting so this project was a blast for me!

My first project was something for the mantle above our fireplace. I got a few random vases from thrift stores and a few cans of spray paint from walmart.

I didn't use all the vases but these are what they looked like before i painted them.....

and after....

don't they look so cute!!!!

Project # 2

I found this coffee table at a boutique for $20!!! I love it so much but of course.... i wanted to add more color and since painting my walls is out of the question, i have to paint everything else :):)

I loved the yellow but being me i decided to add some ......color :)

oh ya and chevron print.... who doesn't love chevron!!!

Project #3

Yes this project was to add even more color to our home. but this time i wanted it above the TV. So i went to a yard sale and bought a few frames for super cheap and used the spray paint from my vases.

I love this so much! my husband says its too artsy but i think it is PERFECT!!

Those are the projects that are finished.... i still have many more up my sleeve and will post pictures as i go....

Looking at this post makes me  feel like i must have been deprived of color at some point in my life... oh ya it was hair school. No more black and white everything. I am filling my life with color

Labor Day Weekend

I always thought it was a little funny that it is called Labor Day when I do NO labor on that day. Needless to say this labor day weekend was filled with fun times and no labor!!!

My Parents came down from Boise to see our new place and some quality time with Mike and I. We were thrilled to have them visit!! We miss all of my family so much and wish we could see them more often. So when ever we get to see them we make sure it is a great time!

Here in Utah every City has a "festival" or a time that they have craft fairs and delicious food. Over labor day weekend Midway hosts one of the most popular city festival... Swiss Days. People from all over Utah come to Midway during this time to enjoy all the events in this town that looks like a little Swiss town. We thought it would be fun to take my parents here to let them experience part of the Utah summer festivities. We had a blast... well at least us girls had a blast. My dad and Mike were very good and didn't complain as we spent hours walking around and looking at all the different craft booths. Next Year i think i will let them go fishing instead. Aren't i a nice wife?

Instead of driving from Heber to Midway, our niece Mylee insisted that we take the bus. She was SO excited to get to ride on a real bus here she is on uncle mikes lap

It was such a great day, and I LOVED being able to spend the whole day with my husband and my parents

Mylee got a little tired and just needed a ride

After our wonderful time at Swiss days we went to the York Family cabin to relax and hang out!
We Started playing a game of horseshoes but they had other plans....

So we gave in....well uncle mike gave in

Then the boys decided that the dogs needed some attention

These 2 dogs were my husbands Loves before he met me. He still loves them so much and when i see him playing and having so much fun with them, i know that when we have our own house I will get him a new dog to play and have fun with. For those of you who know me, This is a HUGE step for me.

After the kiddos left to go home we built a campfire to sit around and chat..... wow for some reason saying that makes me old. i don't know why. But it was so much fun just hanging out with both of our parents at the same time just talking and enjoying each others company.

OUR NEW HOME

Everyone has been asking when are going to show us pictures of your new place....
Well i finally feel like my house is picture worthy even though i am not quite finished decorating, but that could take months to finish. So here you go.......

OUR NEW HOME IN MAPLETON

Let me start off by telling you how much i absolutely LOVE Mapleton! This town just got its 2nd stoplight! Its a small (but quickly growing) town about 20 minuets south of provo and set right up on the side of maple mountain. Our Ward is amazing they are all so nice and friendly. Our landlords are the nicest people ever. Yes i said landlords..... as much as i would love for this house to be ours... it's not but kind of is our home is right here on the side

and down the stairs

and this is our front door

Don't get me wrong.... I LOVE this place and it is so nice. We are way too blessed but we are so grateful that we have this wonderful place to call home while mike finishes up at BYU.
Here we go
The house from the front door

Our Living room

a close up at the coffee table i refinished

One of my favorite things....
the fireplace!

Some of our Books

Out TV and the craft project i attempted above it

Now for a view of the

Kitchen and dining area

I love our table! it fits so perfect, especially with that window!

Those doors in the back are supposed to be to a coat/storage closet.... but we had a better idea.....
we converted in into our own little

Office

I love this! it is so functional.... There is room to store all my craft stuff and its a great place for us mike to study. I love that we can close the doors when company is over so it doesn't feel like they walked into crafting-study craziness!

Target had these plastic storage containers and i couldn't resist buying them....
they also had a mug and frame that matched so of course i had to get them too i feel like it gives it some life and color with feeling like i need to paint a coat closet.

Now lets take this tour into the

Master Bedroom

This is the view into the master bedroom from the door

I love our duvet!

I feel like the wall across from the bed needs a little more... well actually i feel like the whole bedroom needs something more but i just can't decide what.

Let's now move into the

Bathroom

I Love our house and love how big and nice it is the only problem is that there is only one bathroom.... and its in our bedroom. I would LOVE this if  I didn't love to entertain and have people over. But i do have to say that it does help me to keep our bedroom, bathroom and closet clean all the time.

This is the bathroom when looking at it from the bedroom.

We bought this shower curtain right after we got married and were living in our old apartment. We didn't know at hat point that we would be moving into a place that had no need for a shower curtain. I fell in love with it and when i realized there was no shower for it in this place i was a little sad. Well i quickly decided that since there was no door to our closet i could put up the shower curtain there. I am so glad that i am so smart!!

so i told you that the fireplace was ONE of my favorite things.... but if you know me well enough, you knew right away that this, the closet would be my FAVORITE thing .......

This the view from the entrance....

that was mikes space....
now turn to the right.............

and all of this is my stuff.
Do you see the fantastic shoe shelf??? whoever designed this closet had me in mind.
They even put up hooks so i could hang up all my purses!!

oh ya and i forgot.... the actual bathroom looks like this

and behind the door......
A jet tub!!!

And last but not least important of the rooms....
Laundry

The wallpaper isn't the greatest, but i don't even care!!
This is for sure one of the best rooms..... I can't describe to you  how happy i am to not have to leave my house to do laundry.... i will never go with out again.
oh and it has this cute table and storage cupboard!!!

I hope there were enough pictures! I wish all of you guys could come by and visit us!!! If anyone is down in the provo area PLEASE let us know and we would love to have you over for dinner or teats you can even stay over if needed!!!
